Joe was born and raised in Etobicoke, Ontario. After graduating from high school, he entered the Funeral Service Education program at Humber College in Toronto. After obtaining his Funeral Director’s license, he worked in the Toronto area for a few years before moving to Vancouver Island in 1997. In 1999 Joe moved his career to the Cowichan Valley, working in the funeral homes as well as getting to know the community. Shortly after arriving in the Valley, Joe picked up his lacrosse stick again, after many years since playing in his Toronto days, and got involved with the lacrosse community. With such a vast opportunity for outdoor activities in the Cowichan Valley, Joe took advantage of the many hiking trails throughout the region. Now having almost 40 years experience in funeral service, Joe decided to open Cowichan Cremation and Burial Services to serve the community by offering personalized services that are sensitive to the cultural needs.
