The Cowichan Valley Regional District covers an area between Stuart Channel and Saanich Inlet on the east coast of Vancouver Island. It also includes the Gulf Islands of Thetis, Penelakut and Valdes. Cowichan is home to the unceded and traditional territories of the Quw’utsun, Malahat, Ts’uubaa-asatx, Halalt, Penelakut, Stz’uminus, Lyackson, Pauquachin, Ditidaht and Pacheedaht Peoples who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial.
